The general public and the media hail the Morgenstern Trio for its extremely high chamber music and technical standards. The musicians spend a long time developing their seasoned interpretations which are fascinating for how they bring out the finest of nuances. With “The Planets” project, the ensemble begins a long journey through the solar system.
Plato believed that the movement of the planets produced sounds. According to his theory, the primary sound created by these spheres was music. In 1914, Gustav Holst set the traits ascribed to these celestial bodies to music in his composition “The Planets”. This extremely colourful and fascinating work is today an established part of the concert repertoire. The Morgenstern Trio was also captivated by this music and used the break imposed by the Covid restrictions to arrange individual movements for piano trio scoring. At the same time, the musicians commissioned new compositions related to the planets for piano, violin and cello.
