Some think he’s completely crazy, others consider him to be a genius and then there are some who believe he is an inspired self-promoter. Chilly Gonzales likes appearing on the stages of the world’s leading concert halls to play the piano and give the audience lessons in composition while wearing his slippers. His most spectacular performance was in Paris in 2009 when he broke the Guinness World Record for continuous playing in a solo concert that lasted for more than 27 hours. For a long time, the Canadian, whose real name is Jason Beck, played with pseudonyms and names, musical masks and artistic identities, performed as a pianist, singer, rapper, producer, film music composer, songwriter and entertainer, often playing several roles at the same time. Chilly Gonzales is really in a class of its own. Now, he brings London cellist Stella LePage to Wuppertal with him. She is just as much of a virtuoso migrant between the different musical world universes as he is. You can look forward to a concert that will surprise you in more ways than one!
